Mexicaba: Interactive Menu

Interactive menus should do more than display options. They should help customers decide faster, engage with the brand, and turn waiting time into part of the experience.

THE CHALLENGE

Restaurant lines move faster when customers know what they want before they reach the counter. For Mexicaba, the goal was not just to create a digital menu, but to build a menu experience with personality, speed, and brand character.

The menu needed to work through a QR code or NFC tap sticker, giving customers an easy way to view items while standing in line. But the bigger challenge was making the experience feel less like a basic PDF menu and more like a small digital extension of the restaurant itself.

Mexicaba needed something practical enough to help customers choose their meal before reaching the counter, but playful enough to keep them engaged while they waited and make the menu feel like part of the restaurant’s personality.

THE SOLUTION

Cada Grande developed an interactive digital menu experience designed to help customers explore, decide, and engage before reaching the order counter.

The platform was built around quick access, simple navigation, and a more character-driven customer experience. Instead of only listing menu items, we added interactive features that made the wait feel more intentional.

One feature, Pick My Plate, helps customers choose a meal based on their hunger level. It turns decision-making into a small game, allowing the menu to recommend an option instead of leaving the customer scrolling without direction.

We also introduced the Cabascope, a playful Mexicaba-style fortune that gives customers a short message while also teaching them a Spanish word or phrase. Inspired by the familiar fortune-cookie moment, the Cabascope gives Mexicaba its own version of a takeaway experience: part personality, part culture, part language learning.

The result is a digital menu that does more than display food. It reduces decision friction, supports faster ordering, and gives customers a branded interaction before they even reach the counter.
